Pray For Orlando

Hello.
Today's blog post is about the terrible tragedy that happened in Orlando earlier today.

As a LGBT+ person myself I need to talk about this. We all need to talk about this. Politicians, the Government, families, senator's, allies, congress, young people, old people and everyone   in-between this is an event that needs to be spoken about. Everyone needs to know that this can't continue this has to stop and it has to stop now. We need to teach everyone especially the younger generation, that homophobia is a horrible thing and that we cannot have it in our society any longer and we will not tolerate it.

Tonight in Orlando a shooter opened fire on innocent civilians in the Pulse gay nightclub, over 20 have been reported to have been killed and over 40 have been injured. All of these victims were just innocent people on a night out. They were innocent. They didn't ask to be shot or expect this. All these people wanted was a night out in an environment where they felt like they fitted in but instead they ended up in a situation where they were scared for their lives.

This can't go on. Innocent people cannot keep being killed for just being themselves. People should not be dying for loving a certain gender. This has to end. And it has to end today.  LGBT+ are constantly under attack and it's just wrong and it has to stop. All they. We, are doing is falling in love with someone or just being ourselves or expressing who we are. There is NOTHING wrong with being LGBT+ and there is NOTHING wrong with loving someone of the same gender. Love is just that, love. We can't help who we are just as much people can't help the colour of their skin, we are born this way.

I myself are proud of being LGBT+. That is a statement for me, that will never change.

The flag, our flag is representative of peace and love, not hate and death. Our flag must continue to show our love and the love we have for the victims of this violent attack on our people. So we must fly our flags high and with great pride to show our union against hate.

LGBT+ people should feel safe no matter where they are if it's in the street, in our own homes, in a nightclub or anywhere in the world.

June is pride month. We should be celebrating LGBT+ people, not mourning them.
We should be celebrating differences, not being oppressed into being 'normal'.

Misconceptions

Hello.
Today's blog post is titled misconceptions, it will abolish some common misconceptions of why people are gay.

Why am I gay?

Why do I fall in love with girls instead of boys?
Why don't I see my future with a guy?
Why do I want to marry someone of the same sex?

Was it my parents fault?
Was it because I struggled to get a boyfriend?
Was it because I want to rebel?
Was it because no boys wanted me?
Was it because I wanted attention?
Was it because I grew up without a significant male role model?

Did my family not love me enough?
Did a guy hurt me too much?
Did I just decide this one day?

Is it just a phase?

Would you like to know why?

I am gay because this is the way I was born.
This was not a choice.
I like girls because that is who I am.
We are all born the way we are there is nothing that will change me liking girls instead of boys. My sexuality does not depend upon any other factor in my life apart from the way I was born.
Unfortunately I was born into a world where people ask these stupid questions.
Unfortunately I was born into a world with homophobia.
A world where people who aren't straight get treated differently and discriminated against because of the gender of the we fall in love with.
Is this going to stop me being loud and proud about my sexuality?
Is it hell.
I will be who I am no matter what anyone else says or thinks.
I will walk around holding the hand of my girlfriend and kissing the love of my life because that's exactly who she is, the love of my life just because we're two girls does not mean our love is any less adequate.
Love is love no matter gender or sexual orientation.
I am gay because that is the way I was born not because I was hurt or I wasn't loved enough or because I'm rebelling .
I was born this way and this is the way I will be.

Coming out

Hello.
As you can probably tell todays blog post is going to be about coming out or smashing out of the closet. I'm going to try and help you and give you advice if I can.

If you don't feel safe or ready coming out to your family or friends or whoever what ever coming out means to you bisexual, pansexual, queer, asexual, gay, lesbian or anything else but coming out isn't just about sexual orientation genderqueer, transsexual, biromantic, intersex or anything else then you don't have to if you don't want to also it doesn't have to be a big thing but it can be a big thing if you want it to that's fine but remember coming out is a process you don't come out just once and that's it you have to come out to everyone you meet and some of these people may not be as understanding as others but do not let these people opinions stop you from being you never let others opinions stop you from being who you are. There is no right way to come out you could use text or a phone call maybe a letter to the people who you want to know you don't have tell everyone unless you want to but you don't have to come out like that you could just introduce your girlfriend/boyfriend/them if this is about your sexual orientation. Remember coming out is different for everyone because no two people are the same it maybe easy for others it maybe hard you may find out that you should have waited or maybe you should have done it sooner. Coming out isn't all or nothing you don't have to tell everyone in your life if you don't feel safe an enough an example of this maybe coming out to your friends but not your family or some of your family and not your work colleges. This can be a process you might be not be completely figured out yet which is okay you maybe think you are gay but not completely sure you can tell people you prefer queer if this is what you are coming out with, Coming could be risky people in this world are not as accepting as they should be they could be offensive they may hurt you physically or if its the people you live with they may throw you out or your boss may fire you for coming out all of these isn't right but these people aren't accepting but we are slowly changing this don't worry we will get there eventually. But remember coming out is a personal choice telling everyone or just friends or not telling anyone or maybe just not your parents its your choice about who you come out to. Be confident in who you are come out when the time is ready and when your ready and when your safe this is all you choice don't forget that also that I love you no matter what.
